Go to M-Pesa, Lipa na M-Pesa, Pay Bill, enter business number 400300, then the account. Use ID number or account number or member number (Smart Member Savings: SCHEME_0009, sent from the phone number the smart account was opened with) as the account number. Keep the M-Pesa message as your receipt.

How do I check my Biashara balance?

You can dial *477# and log in with your member details to see your deposits, shares and loan balance. If you haven't registered for mobile banking, register at any Biashara branch.

How do I join Biashara?

You need: national ID or valid passport, kRA PIN certificate, passport-sized photos (taken free at any branch), account opening form (filled at branch) and initial cash deposit. You can apply online on SaccoLink and we'll send your application to Biashara.

How do I get a loan from Biashara?

Loans are for members. How long you must save first, how much you can borrow against your deposits, and how many guarantors you need are set by Biashara, so ask a branch for the loan form and current terms. If you need a guarantor from Biashara, its SaccoLink guarantor board lets members guarantee each other.

How do I leave Biashara or withdraw my savings?

Give Biashara written notice. Deposits are usually refunded after a notice period once your loans and any guarantees you have given are cleared. Share capital is normally not refunded, but you can sell it to another member, for example on SaccoLink.

Is Biashara licensed by SASRA?

Yes. Biashara is on SASRA's list of SACCOs licensed to take deposits (FOSA) for 2026, so it can offer withdrawable savings accounts as well as loans.
