How do I join Defence?

You need: uniformed serving or retired personnel, duly filled membership form (download, or hard copy from Pay Offices, Welfare Office, Unit Chief Clerk), one-time registration fee KES 600 (non-refundable), minimum share capital KES 20,000, monthly sink fund KES 300 and minimum monthly deposit contribution KES 3,500. How do I get a loan from Defence?

Loans are for members. How long you must save first, how much you can borrow against your deposits, and how many guarantors you need are set by Defence, so ask a branch for the loan form and current terms. If you need a guarantor from Defence, its SaccoLink guarantor board lets members guarantee each other.

How do I leave Defence or withdraw my savings?

Give Defence written notice. Deposits are usually refunded after a notice period once your loans and any guarantees you have given are cleared. Share capital is normally not refunded, but you can sell it to another member, for example on SaccoLink.

Is Defence licensed by SASRA?

Yes. Defence is on SASRA's list of SACCOs licensed to take deposits (FOSA) for 2026, so it can offer withdrawable savings accounts as well as loans.
