Expect a registration fee of KSh 1,000 and minimum share capital of KSh 2,000. You can apply online on SaccoLink and we'll send your application to Nation.
For FY2024, Nation paid 20% on share capital and 11% interest on deposits (source: Saccos Report Impressive Dividends Payout (Co-op News)). Rates are set each year at the AGM, so future rates may differ.
Loans are for members. How long you must save first, how much you can borrow against your deposits, and how many guarantors you need are set by Nation, so ask a branch for the loan form and current terms. If you need a guarantor from Nation, its SaccoLink guarantor board lets members guarantee each other.
Give Nation written notice. Deposits are usually refunded after a notice period once your loans and any guarantees you have given are cleared. Share capital is normally not refunded, but you can sell it to another member, for example on SaccoLink.
Yes. Nation is on SASRA's list of SACCOs licensed to take deposits (FOSA) for 2026, so it can offer withdrawable savings accounts as well as loans.
