How do I join Taifa?

You need: visit nearest branch, original and copy of ID card / military ID / passport / driving licence and open membership account with KES 1,100 (KES 100 account opening, KES 500 savings, KES 500 shares). Expect a registration fee of KSh 100 and minimum share capital of KSh 10,000. You can apply online on SaccoLink and we'll send your application to Taifa.

How do I get a loan from Taifa?

Loans are for members. How long you must save first, how much you can borrow against your deposits, and how many guarantors you need are set by Taifa, so ask a branch for the loan form and current terms. If you need a guarantor from Taifa, its SaccoLink guarantor board lets members guarantee each other.

How do I leave Taifa or withdraw my savings?

Give Taifa written notice. Deposits are usually refunded after a notice period once your loans and any guarantees you have given are cleared. Share capital is normally not refunded, but you can sell it to another member, for example on SaccoLink.

Is Taifa licensed by SASRA?

Yes. Taifa is on SASRA's list of SACCOs licensed to take deposits (FOSA) for 2026, so it can offer withdrawable savings accounts as well as loans.
