How do I top up my Unaitas shares or deposits?

Go to M-Pesa, Lipa na M-Pesa, Pay Bill, enter business number 544700, then the account. Use Your Unaitas account number as the account number. Keep the M-Pesa message as your receipt.

How do I check my Unaitas balance?

You can dial *493# and log in with your member details to see your deposits, shares and loan balance. If you haven't registered for mobile banking, register at any Unaitas branch.

Does Unaitas have mobile banking?

How do I join Unaitas?

You need: visit branch customer care desk, deposit minimum membership fee (OTC or Paybill 544700), identification document, certified copy of ID or Passport, passport photograph (taken at branch), certified copy of utility bill / tenancy agreement, certified copy of KRA PIN certificate and introduction letter from Ministry of Social Services (groups). Expect minimum share capital of KSh 100. You can apply online on SaccoLink and we'll send your application to Unaitas.

How do I get a loan from Unaitas?

Loans are for members. How long you must save first, how much you can borrow against your deposits, and how many guarantors you need are set by Unaitas, so ask a branch for the loan form and current terms. If you need a guarantor from Unaitas, its SaccoLink guarantor board lets members guarantee each other.

How do I leave Unaitas or withdraw my savings?

Give Unaitas written notice. Deposits are usually refunded after a notice period once your loans and any guarantees you have given are cleared. Share capital is normally not refunded, but you can sell it to another member, for example on SaccoLink.

Is Unaitas licensed by SASRA?

Yes. Unaitas is on SASRA's list of SACCOs licensed to take deposits (FOSA) for 2026, so it can offer withdrawable savings accounts as well as loans.
